About Bad A$$ Surfaces

With over 60 years of combined experience and more than 25 years serving the Verde Valley, BAD A$$ SURFACES is a true family-run operation rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and trust.

It all started with brothers Nick and Bret, who built the foundation of the business with hands-on work and unmatched dedication. As the company grew, their sister Cassidy joined the team with a degree in design, bringing a sharp eye for style and custom layouts to the table. Bret’s wife, Rebecca, now oversees operations—managing workflow, coordinating projects, and wearing many hats to keep things running smooth.

Nick, our Production Manager, connects with clients and taps into the best resources in the industry. He offers these same resources to our clients at cost, building long-lasting relationships through transparency and unbeatable value.

Bret, the owner, is involved in every project, from planning to execution. His passion shows in every detail, making sure the final product reflects the BAD A$$ standard.

Cassidy handles all design and layout work, crafting custom solutions tailored to each client’s vision.

And behind the scenes, a trusted family friend ensures that all ideas and contributions are balanced within the company’s vision. He also handles the technical and legal side, making sure BAD A$$ SURFACES stays protected and up to date with industry standards.

Our Core Values

At BAD A$$ SURFACES, our work is driven by values that go deeper than the surface. Every project, every client, every detail reflects the core principles that define who we are:

  1. Family First: We’re a family-owned business, and that energy runs through everything we do. Trust, loyalty, and respect aren’t just ideals—they’re how we operate, both in-house and with every client.
  2. Bold Craftsmanship: "Good enough" doesn’t cut it here. We take pride in building bold, beautiful, and lasting work that stands out. If it’s got our name on it, it better be badass.
  3. Integrity & Transparency: We believe in straight talk, honest pricing, and doing the right thing—always. No hidden fees, no shortcuts, just real people doing real quality work.
  4. Custom Over Cookie-Cutter: Every client is different. That’s why we don’t do one-size-fits-all. Our designs and builds are tailored to you, your space, and your vision.
  5. Value Through Relationships: Thanks to Nick’s deep industry connections, we offer clients premium materials at cost. It’s not about upcharging—it’s about building long-term trust and giving you the best deal possible.
  6. Passion In Every Detail: From layout to the final polish, we’re hands-on and fully committed. Bret personally oversees every project to make sure it’s done right.

Standout Project

One project that truly defines what BAD A$$ SURFACES is all about took place right here in the heart of the Verde Valley—a full custom remodel of a 1970s home that had been untouched for decades. The client wanted a total transformation, but they were on a strict budget and a tight timeline. Most contractors had already passed on the job, calling it “too complicated.”

We took it as a challenge.

The floors were uneven concrete slabs with moisture issues, the kitchen was closed off and outdated, and the bathrooms needed full gut jobs. But our team saw potential, not problems.

Nick leveraged his industry network to get high-end materials at cost—premium hardwood, custom tile, and quartz countertops that would normally blow any budget. Cassidy created a fresh open-concept design with stunning flow, custom cabinetry, and smart storage. And Bret rolled up his sleeves and personally managed the install—every cut, every fit, every finish.

We ran into surprise plumbing issues, structural hiccups, and last-minute client requests—but thanks to our team’s flexibility, experience, and “no excuses” mindset, we still delivered ahead of schedule and under budget.

The client was speechless. Not only did we bring their dream space to life—we gave them a badass home that looked like it belonged in a magazine.

That project reminded us why we do what we do: to turn challenges into statements, and to leave every client saying, “Damn… that’s BAD A$$”
