Our story
About Us – Motivation and Story
BAD A$$ SURFACES wasn’t just started—it was built with grit, family roots, and a drive to do things better.
It all started over 25 years ago with two brothers, Nick and Bret, who grew up working with their hands, learning the trades, and mastering the craft of construction from the ground up. They didn’t just want to build surfaces—they wanted to create bold, lasting work that stood out. Work that made people say, “Damn, that’s badass!”
That’s where the name came from—BAD A$$ SURFACES. It’s more than a name. It’s a promise. A commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, creative solutions, and honest pricing. We don’t do boring. We don’t do cookie-cutter. We do custom, we do clean, and we do it with pride.
As the company grew, Cassidy, their sister, brought in the missing piece: professional design and layout expertise. Then Rebecca, Bret’s wife, stepped up as the glue holding it all together—managing the day-to-day operations with precision and passion.
Behind the scenes, a close family friend ensures everything we do stays protected, legal, and future-proof. From compliance to proprietary tools, he helps keep our vision secure.
What motivated us? Simple: We wanted to bring a different energy to construction and remodeling—honest work, family values, and a bold approach to design and quality. We wanted to build a brand that not only delivered great results but made people feel part of something unique.
We’re here to change the game in the Verde Valley—one badass surface at a time.

Our history
BAD A$$ SURFACES began with a simple vision: to bring bold, high-quality craftsmanship to the Verde Valley. What started as a small, family-run operation over 25 years ago has grown into a trusted name in custom flooring, countertops, and design.
The story begins with Nick and Bret, two brothers who grew up working with their hands, mastering the construction trade, and dreaming of building something bigger. They started taking on small projects and soon gained a reputation for their attention to detail and ability to turn any surface into something extraordinary.
As the years went by, Cassidy, their sister, joined the team, bringing her design expertise and fresh perspective. Armed with a degree in design, she added a creative layer to the business, helping transform each project into a custom solution that not only met but exceeded client expectations.
Rebecca, Bret’s wife, came on board to handle the operations side—scheduling, client communication, and overseeing project flow. Her role has been vital in ensuring that every project runs smoothly and on time.
Through the years, BAD A$$ SURFACES has expanded, but our roots remain the same: family-driven values, a commitment to quality, and a bold approach to design and craftsmanship. We’ve grown because of the trust our clients place in us, the word-of-mouth referrals, and our unwavering dedication to doing things right.
Today, we’re proud of the legacy we’ve built in the Verde Valley—one project, one surface, and one satisfied client at a time.
